EasyLaTeX Terms of Service

Last revised: October 15, 2026

Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) apply to your access to and use of https://www.easylatex.ai/ or https://app.easylatex.ai/ (the “Websites”), and the products and services provided through or in connection with the Websites, including associated applications and browser extensions (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are operated and managed by Easylatex Technology Limited (“we,” “us,” or “Easylatex”). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Services.

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and accept the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of both parties set out in them. If you access or use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have been duly authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf and bind it to them. In that case, “you” and “your” refer to that organization and, where applicable, the persons it authorizes to use the Services.

Your access to or other use of any part of the Services, including registering for or using an account, constitutes acceptance of these Terms. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms exclude any other terms and conditions you seek to apply, including terms in purchase orders or similar documents, even if they do not expressly conflict with these Terms. Unless we separately agree in writing, those other terms are not binding on us.

Eligibility and changes to the Services

You may use the Services only in compliance with these Terms and applicable law. You must have the capacity to enter into a legally binding contract with us and must not be restricted or prohibited from doing so by applicable law. For example, you must not access or use the Services if you have not reached the legal age required to enter into a valid contract, are located in a sanctioned country or region, or appear on an applicable sanctions list.

We continually improve the Services and may introduce new features from time to time. The content, features, and form of the Services may therefore change at any time. We may, at our discretion, discontinue, suspend, restrict, or modify all or part of the Services at any time without prior notice. We recognize, however, that documents you store in the Services may be important to you. Please refer to the relevant provisions of these Terms for arrangements concerning file access if the Services are interrupted or terminated.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also, at our discretion, remove, hide, or restrict access to any content in the Services.

Before formal publication, it is recommended that the provisions on account eligibility, sanctions compliance, service suspension, file access, and content removal be legally reviewed in light of Easylatex's actual business model, users' locations, and applicable law. This version reflects wording and structural improvements and does not constitute legal advice.

Your materials and privacy

When using the Services, you may create or provide us with information, files, and folders through our products and services (collectively, “Your Materials”). We do not claim ownership of Your Materials. These Terms grant us only the rights to use Your Materials to respond to your requests and provide the Services, as explained below.

These rights include storage, format conversion, and compiling data statistics for aggregated reporting and analysis. They also cover technical operations used to administer the Services, such as redundant backups to safeguard data. These rights allow us to engage affiliates and trusted third parties to provide services, such as Google Cloud Platform for primary storage.

For clarity, except for the limited exceptions described in the Privacy Policy or the “Managed accounts” section, we will not share Your Materials with others for any purpose without your instructions or authorization, including authorization through linking your EasyLaTeX account to a third-party application. You expressly acknowledge that if you use a managed account, the managing organization will have certain administrative rights over that account and may access and control Your Materials.

You are solely responsible for your conduct, the content of Your Materials, and your communications with others while using the Services. For example, you must ensure that you have obtained the rights and permissions necessary to comply with these Terms.

We may choose to review public content for compliance with community guidelines, but you acknowledge that we have no obligation to review or monitor any information on the Services. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, appropriateness, or legality of Your Materials, user-posted content, or any information you obtain through the Services.

Although we reserve the right to discontinue, suspend, or modify the Services at any time without prior notice, we understand that Your Materials are important and that you may wish to retrieve them in such circumstances. For personal accounts, we will endeavor to contact you and aim to retain Your Materials in read-only form for up to 3 months after suspension or termination so that you can retrieve them. For other account types, including managed accounts, you may not be able to retrieve Your Materials directly yourself.

Sharing your materials

The Services include features that let you share Your Materials with others, such as contributing content to another user's project. Once materials are shared or made public, others may, for example, copy, modify, or reshare them. Please carefully choose what you share or publish and ensure that you have all necessary rights and permissions. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from your sharing of Your Materials.

Account registration

You may register for and access EasyLaTeX Services through supported email verification or Google sign-in methods. You must ensure that information provided when registering for and using the Services is truthful, accurate, and complete and update it promptly when it changes.

You must safeguard information and credentials relating to account login and authentication and take reasonable steps to secure your account. Without our prior permission, you must not sell, transfer, or otherwise improperly dispose of your account.

If you discover or reasonably suspect unauthorized access to or use of your account, you must promptly notify us and take necessary security measures, including checking the security of the relevant email or third-party account.

To protect data and files you transmit to EasyLaTeX, you must take reasonable security measures when accessing the Services and transmitting data and use secure encrypted connections where appropriate.

Managed accounts

If your account is a managed account, you have joined an EasyLaTeX managed subscription plan controlled by the subscription owner (the “Managing Organization”), which is usually the paying party. We establish managed subscriptions under a separate contract under which we provide the Services and hold Your Materials for use by you and other members, with those obligations owed to the Managing Organization. Important: the Managing Organization has administrative rights over your account and can control Your Materials. For example, it can close your account (managed users cannot close their accounts themselves) and access, delete, or share Your Materials, including reassigning projects. By joining an EasyLaTeX managed subscription or using a managed account, you grant us all necessary permissions to act on the Managing Organization's instructions and requests concerning your EasyLaTeX account and Your Materials. These permissions are irrevocable, and the Managing Organization has ultimate control over the account and materials. The materials are also subject to any ownership terms agreed between you and the subscription owner. Before joining a managed subscription or activating a managed account, carefully review the relevant terms and the Managing Organization's policies, which may explain ownership of content you create under the managed account and how the organization may use it.

Managed accounts cannot be converted into unmanaged accounts. Before registering for a managed account or agreeing to migrate an existing unmanaged account to a managed account, carefully consider whether a managed account is appropriate for you.

EasyLaTeX artificial intelligence tools

This section applies if you use EasyLaTeX's AI-powered features (collectively, the “EasyLaTeX AI Tools”).

“Input” means content you submit to the EasyLaTeX AI Tools. “Output” means content the AI Tools generate and return to you based on your Input.

Under these Terms, both Input and Output are treated as Your Materials. Without your consent, we will not use your Input or Output to train or develop AI models, except where doing so is solely to provide the Services to you and exclusively for your use. As between you and us, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, you own your Input and Output. If processing Your Materials involves third parties such as large language model providers, we will ensure that the relevant contracts contain comprehensive information security safeguards and prohibit those third parties from using Your Materials to develop or train their own AI models. Due to the nature of the EasyLaTeX AI Tools and artificial intelligence, Output is provided “as is” and is not guaranteed to be unique; other users may receive similar results. You are solely responsible for all use of Output and must independently verify its accuracy, completeness, and suitability before using it.

Usage limits

The Services have specified usage limits, including compilation timeouts, storage, numbers of collaborators and active projects, prompt and token usage, and API request rates. EasyLaTeX may monitor your use of the Services to ensure compliance with those limits.

Some features in EasyLaTeX plans or add-ons are described as “unlimited.” This means EasyLaTeX does not impose a fixed cap on those features.

Our rights

Intellectual property and related rights in the EasyLaTeX Services and associated content, software, interface designs, text, images, trademarks, logos, and other materials belong to EasyLaTeX, its affiliates, or the relevant rights holders. Those rights are protected by applicable intellectual property laws and relevant international treaties.

Except for the limited usage rights expressly granted in these Terms, these Terms do not transfer intellectual property rights in the Services or any component of them or grant you any right to use the “EasyLaTeX” name, trademarks, or other branding. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by their respective holders, except as otherwise provided by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you must not remove, obscure, alter, or falsify copyright notices, trademarks, proprietary notices, or other rights identifiers included in the Services without the relevant rights holder's prior permission.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and applicable plan rules, EasyLaTeX grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services within your subscription or service entitlements.

Unless expressly permitted by the applicable plan or a separate agreement between the parties, the Services are for your personal study, research, academic writing, and other non-commercial purposes only. Paid users who meet the relevant plan rules may use the Services for internal business activities within their authorization, but this does not grant rights to resell the Services, commercially provide third parties with access, or use the Services beyond the plan's authorization.

You must not use the Services beyond the scope granted by these Terms and applicable plan rules without EasyLaTeX's prior written consent. This provision does not limit rights granted to you by applicable law.

If you use the Services on behalf of an organization or business, EasyLaTeX will identify you as a customer or use your name, trademarks, or other branding on its official website, promotional materials, presentations, or other public materials only with your prior authorization. Such use must comply with reasonable brand guidelines you provide and accurately reflect the actual relationship between the parties.

You may withdraw this authorization through channels agreed by the parties. Following withdrawal, EasyLaTeX will stop new relevant uses within a reasonable period and update existing public materials where reasonably practicable, unless otherwise required by law or agreed by the parties.

Your responsibilities

You must comply with all laws and regulations applicable to you and your use of the Services.

Files and content you receive or share through the Services may be protected by others' intellectual property rights. You agree to respect others' proprietary rights and to copy, upload, download, or share files only when you have the relevant rights and permissions. You, rather than EasyLaTeX, bear full responsibility for all content you copy, share, upload, download, receive, or use through the Services. You must obtain the owner's permission before using third-party-owned files accessible through EasyLaTeX's compilation system, including font files.

You are responsible for maintaining and protecting all Your Materials and are advised to keep local backup copies. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to materials or any costs and expenses of backing up or restoring them.

Your feedback

We welcome feedback, suggestions, and comments posted in forums. Please note, however, that we may use, edit, and disclose them without any obligation to you. By submitting such comments, you irrevocably grant us all rights necessary to use them for product improvement or other purposes we choose.

You must ensure that your comments do not contain offensive, false, defamatory, or unlawful content or infringe any proprietary or other rights.

Links relating to the Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We do not endorse those resources and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or associated content, products, or services. You access them entirely at your own risk. If you wish to create an external link to the Services, you must first obtain our permission. Links may be used only for non-commercial purposes and must be fair and lawful, without damaging our reputation or improperly exploiting our brand.

Order process and contract formation

The Services are operated by Easylatex Technology Limited. When purchasing paid Services, users must pay in accordance with the payment methods and instructions shown on the order page. Payments are made to Easylatex Technology Limited or its designated lawful payment collection service provider.

By submitting a paid order, you offer to purchase the relevant Services at the price and on the service terms, subscription period, and other conditions stated on the order page.

Unless otherwise stated on the order page or required by applicable law, the service contract is formed when EasyLaTeX confirms acceptance of the order. Confirmation may be provided through an order confirmation page, email, order status in your account, or another reasonable method. Successful payment and activation of the Services generally form part of order processing and performance. If payment has been completed but the Services are not activated promptly, you may contact EasyLaTeX for assistance.

We endeavor to ensure the accuracy of website information, but errors may occur. If a price or product description is incorrectly displayed, we are not obliged to sell or provide the Services based on that incorrect information. If we discover an error before contract formation, we may reject the order and notify you or inform you as soon as possible so you can choose to cancel the order or confirm it at the correct price or description. If we offer cancellation or reconfirmation but cannot contact you, or receive no response within 14 days after sending notice, whether or not you receive it, we will reject the order.

Prices, payment, and refunds

Prices displayed on the Websites are for reference and may change at any time. Unless otherwise indicated, listed prices exclude VAT, sales tax, and other taxes. For existing subscribers, we will notify you of price increases before charging for renewal, and you may cancel your subscription. As a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights after renewal under the laws of your location.

Subscription prices shown on the EasyLaTeX Websites and order pages are the final prices payable for the relevant Services. Unless expressly stated otherwise on the order page, users need not pay additional taxes to EasyLaTeX. Users must pay according to the prices and payment instructions displayed on the order page.

Without affecting your statutory cancellation, refund, or other consumer rights under applicable law, if you are an individual user and are dissatisfied with purchased Services, you may submit a written refund request to EasyLaTeX within 14 days of successful payment. If our review confirms that the request meets this provision, we will provide a full refund.

Refund requests must be submitted through EasyLaTeX's published official contact channels with the necessary order information so we can verify payment and subscription details. We will review and process requests in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

In addition to the refund policy above, you may request a refund where provided by applicable law or other provisions of these Terms. This provision does not exclude or limit any rights or liabilities that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

If your request qualifies for a refund, we will notify you of the outcome by email or another reasonable method. Refunds will generally be processed as soon as possible and completed within 30 days after approval or confirmation.

Refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method used to purchase the Services. If this is not possible because of payment channel restrictions or other reasonable grounds, we will discuss an appropriate alternative refund method with you. Actual receipt may depend on the processing procedures of banks, payment service providers, or other relevant institutions.

Termination of the Services

Although we hope you will continue using the Services, you may stop using them at any time.

Unless otherwise agreed, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the Services at any time, with or without cause or prior notice. For example, we may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or your use exposes us to legal liability or interferes with other users. If we suspend or terminate without cause, we will endeavor to give advance notice to you, or to the Managing Organization for managed subscriptions, and help you retrieve Your Materials. In some circumstances, however, such as repeated or serious breaches, a court order, or risks to other users, we may suspend access immediately.

If you fail to pay on time or commit a deliberate material breach, including violations of acceptable use policies, fraud, unlawful acts, or abuse of the Services, we may suspend parts of the Services or terminate the agreement under which we provide them to you.

Neither this section nor any other part of these Terms affects consumers' statutory rights.

Use after termination

When a paid account subscription expires, including where an institution or organization pays on your behalf and stops paying, we will endeavor to retain Your Materials for unmanaged accounts and allow access through a free account, subject to the free account terms. If you exceed free account limits, you must archive old content before adding new materials.

If you no longer need your account, an unmanaged account may be closed in account settings. We may retain and use Your Materials to fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Subject to those requirements, we will delete materials as soon as possible, but server deletion may be delayed and backup copies may remain. Files shared with other users may also be retained.

For managed accounts, the Managing Organization may close your account and access, delete, or share Your Materials, including reassigning projects, at any time. See the “Managed accounts” section.

EasyLaTeX Services are provided as is

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EasyLaTeX provides the Services “as is” and “as available.” Although we use reasonable efforts to maintain normal operation, security, and stability, we do not guarantee that the Services will always be uninterrupted, timely, secure, accurate, or error-free or that all defects can be corrected.

AI-generated content, suggestions, analyses, and other results provided by EasyLaTeX may contain errors or be incomplete or inaccurate. They should not be treated as professional advice or a guarantee of any particular outcome. You must verify relevant content according to your needs and independently assess its suitability for your purposes.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, EasyLaTeX makes no warranties concerning the Services other than those expressly stated in these Terms, including implied or other warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. These Terms do not, however, exclude or limit warranties, liabilities, or user rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You must take reasonable steps to protect your devices, account, and materials and back up important files and data. To the extent permitted by applicable law, EasyLaTeX disclaims liability that may lawfully be excluded under these Terms for device damage, data loss, or other losses arising from your use of, inability to access, or interruptions to the Services.

Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EasyLaTeX and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses or loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from your use of or inability to use the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such losses.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the aggregate liability of EasyLaTeX and the parties identified above for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the fees you actually paid for the Services during the three consecutive months immediately preceding the relevant claim. For free users and users who paid no fees during that period, the liability cap and its application will be determined under applicable law.

This provision does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

We handle your personal information in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy and take reasonable measures appropriate to the Services to protect user data. However, internet transmission, electronic communications, and information storage cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure. We give no absolute guarantee against security risks beyond reasonable control that cannot reasonably be avoided.

You must safeguard important materials according to your needs and keep backups where appropriate. For information about how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.

These Terms do not affect your statutory rights under applicable law. They do not exclude or limit liability where applicable law does not permit exclusion or limitation.

If a third-party claim arises from your breach of these Terms, violation of applicable law, or infringement of a third party's lawful rights and causes losses to EasyLaTeX or its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors for which you are legally responsible, you must indemnify them for those losses and reasonable legal fees to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Where required by applicable law or reasonably practicable, we will promptly notify you of the claim and give you a reasonable opportunity to participate in handling it. This provision does not require you to assume liabilities that cannot legally be transferred or relieve us of liabilities we bear by law for our own conduct.

Separate contracts and additional terms

If you use the Services under a separate agreement between your organization and EasyLaTeX or a service contract it has entered into with us, your use is also subject to that contract. If it conflicts with these Terms, it prevails, to the extent permitted by law, for matters it expressly addresses. These Terms alone must not be interpreted as imposing additional obligations on that organization beyond the relevant contract.

Some features or services may be subject to specific usage rules, feature descriptions, or other additional terms. Those additional terms form part of these Terms and apply to the services or features they expressly cover. You must read and comply with applicable additional terms before using the relevant services or features.

If we provide software or components governed by open-source licenses, you must also comply with those licenses. If an open-source license conflicts with these Terms, the applicable license prevails for matters concerning the relevant software or components governed by it.

If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms prevail, to the extent permitted by law, for the specific services or features to which they expressly apply.

Revisions to these Terms

We revise these Terms from time to time and will continue publishing the latest version on our official website. If we determine, at our discretion, that a revision is material, we will notify you, for example by email to your account's linked email address. Other changes will be posted on the news page or terms page, which you should review regularly. Continued access to or use of the Services after revisions take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept the new Terms, please stop using the Services.

Other legal provisions

The formation, validity, interpretation, and performance of these Terms, and any disputes or claims arising out of or relating to them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, excluding conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms must be submitted to the competent courts of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

These Terms do not affect EasyLaTeX's right to seek an injunction or other appropriate relief from a competent court under applicable law.

If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights under applicable law. They do not exclude or limit rights or liabilities where applicable law does not permit exclusion or limitation.

These Terms and any additional terms applicable to the Services you use constitute the entire agreement between you and EasyLaTeX concerning those Services and supersede previous arrangements concerning the same subject matter, except for separately executed agreements expressly applicable to the relevant Services.

Unless expressly provided in these Terms or otherwise required by applicable law, these Terms grant no independent contractual rights to persons who are not parties to them.

Our failure or delay in exercising any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver. A single or partial exercise of a right does not prevent further exercise of that or any other right.

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it must be narrowly construed or adjusted as necessary to the extent permitted by applicable law. If it cannot be adjusted, it will be disapplied to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions remain effective, except as otherwise required by applicable law.

Expressions such as “including” introduce non-exhaustive lists unless the context expressly indicates otherwise.

You must not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent, except as otherwise provided by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may transfer our rights under these Terms and the relevant business to our affiliates, subsidiaries, or a successor to that business. Such transfer does not relieve us of liabilities imposed by law or affect your statutory rights.

Your relationship with EasyLaTeX is a contractual relationship between an independent service provider and a user. These Terms do not establish a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship.

Force majeure

If a party is delayed or prevented from performing its obligations under this agreement by an event beyond its reasonable control that could not reasonably be foreseen, avoided, or overcome, it is not liable for the resulting breach to the extent affected. Such events include natural disasters, war, riots, government action, major public health events, and major failures of telecommunications networks, internet infrastructure, or other essential technical services.

If such an event affects EasyLaTeX's provision of the Services or performance, EasyLaTeX may reasonably extend the performance period to the extent affected and must, where reasonably practicable, promptly notify users and take reasonable steps to mitigate the effects.

If a force majeure event continues for more than 15 days and prevents continued performance of the principal obligations under this agreement, either party may terminate it by written notice to the other. After termination, the parties must address unperformed obligations and related fees in accordance with applicable law and this agreement. This provision does not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Notices

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, formal legal notices under these Terms must be in writing and may be delivered by hand, registered mail, or email to the valid contact address or email address provided by the other party.

Formal legal notices to EasyLaTeX may be sent to its published registered address or official contact email address. Formal legal notices to users may be sent to the email address provided at registration or subsequently updated, or to a valid contact address provided by the user.
